Iron Bridge’s Annual Spring Training Webinars hosted by Robert Weinerman

We are excited to share that Iron Bridge’s annual spring training webinars, hosted by Robert Weinerman, are open for registration! There is no cost to attend for MASFAA members. The training will be the same in each offering, so attendees need only register for the session that fits their schedule best.

The webinar will be two hours long and will be offered at the following times:

  • Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 10:00 AM to noon Eastern Time
  • Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Wednesday, May 13, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

The Zoom registration page will display the times in each registrant’s local time zone.

The Iron Bridge Resources Annual Spring Webinar: A Look forward to the 2025 Tax Returns and Tax Code, and a Look Back at This Year’s Most Challenging Training Topics

The webinar will begin with a look at the 2025 tax year (the base year for 2027-2028). There have been some changes to 2025’s Form 1040 that financial aid administrators will want to understand before they begin collecting 2025 tax returns – especially if they will be used as documentation for income adjustment professional judgments during the 2026-2027 academic year. And Robert will look at the new tax exemptions created by the OBBBA and implemented in 2025 (the deductions for tip income, overtime, car loan interest, and taxpayers over 65), with a focus on how these new deductions may change financial aid outcomes.

Next, Robert will look at the changes the Department made to the draft 2027-2028 FAFSA, and what we may be able to glean about changes coming for the 2027-2028 aid year from these changes.

Finally, Robert will look at some of the topics that came up most frequently in his tax trainings this fall, to address, or readdress, areas of confusion of disagreement.
