April was nominated by Jenny Aguiar, who wrote: “April has worked in various offices on campus and has remained dedicated to financial aid. She has a strong attention to detail and works hard to ensure students understand the financial aid process. April shares information with students in a detailed yet easy to understand manner. Students are comfortable coming to her with complex and confidential questions and concerns.”

While April was not able to join us at the conference due to a prior commitment, she shared these words of gratitude:

“I am truly humbled for the recognition and grateful to the MASFAA team committee who selected me to receive such an honor.

I am further honored that Jenny Aguiar nominated me, and touched by the recognition she shared with the MASFAA committee for my nomination; it means a lot coming from her!

Receiving this award is a reminder of why I love working in higher education and the opportunity to help students achieve their goals by providing the tools and resources to make it possible, and lending a compassionate ear when needed.

Congratulations to all those who were nominated and to everybody working in financial aid, it’s not always easy (especially with the upcoming changes), but we all push through for our students.”
