Delaney was nominated by Nicole Lenares-Vaillancourt and Matt Gingras, who wrote: “Since starting at Anna Maria College, Delaney immediately excelled in her role as a financial aid counselor. She quickly demonstrated proficiency and understanding of complicated policies and procedures and has taken the initiative to go above and beyond in continuing her professional development through independent study and involvement in the MASFAA professional development and training committee.

She has positioned herself as a leader in the financial aid office at Anna Maria College and earned a promotion to Assistant Director after only one year in the field. Her friendly, patient demeanor has been integral in transforming how students view the financial aid office. Students regularly come by to see Delaney or request her help when they are faced with a problem, demonstrating her ability to establish positive relationships and trust.

Delaney also regularly demonstrates critical thinking skills, astutely identifying discrepancies or inefficiencies in internal procedures and recommending ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness. It is undeniable that Delaney has a successful career in higher education ahead of her and that the dedication she maintains to student success and professional development will positively impact the trajectories of countless students for years to come.

On the MASFAA Professional Development and Training Committee, Delaney quickly became a contributor to the committee, offering insight into new professional programming. She has shown both an eagerness to contribute and a willingness to volunteer her time and skillset to whatever is needed.”
