To recognize sustained services as a champion for the needs of disadvantaged groups and to promote student advocacy

This is what the nominator, Jennifer, had to say about the recipient:

It is with privilege that I nominate my colleague for the Edward M. Kennedy Public Service Award. He and I have tri-chaired or co-chaired FAFSA Day MA for 4 years and he has been a volunteer ambassador at MEFA for many years. This person is always willing to address college specific CSS Profile questions, and is persistently in contact with families to provide guidance and support without question.

He always comes to the table with a sense of humor and leads efforts to keep the often challenging Financial Aid process lighthearted, while always maintaining the goal of supporting students and families. I feel as though he and I have helped each other remain engaged and motivated through our years on the committee, especially during the pandemic and throughout extensive challenges with last year’s FAFSA. I see him as being a team player, offering flexibility, and being creative in devising alternative ways to communicate with families.
