Entering Student Loan Repayment Strategies

Student loan borrowers–especially those who have yet to enter repayment–are facing a myriad of challenges as repayment plans, forgiveness and cancellation options and the impacts of non-payment seem to change on a weekly basis. For borrowers who are re-entering active repayment, the current landscape looks vastly different in some ways than at any time in the past. How can we as a community assist these borrowers, particularly as the on-ramp to repayment expired at the end of September?
This session will bring together three industry experts who will discuss impediments to successful repayment, counseling strategies for counselors and related staff who work with borrowers and what we may expect in the weeks and months ahead. This will be a critical conversation for the broader financial aid community as we collectively seek to provide updated and accurate guidance to the millions of confused borrowers who do not have access to the information and expertise that we enjoy.
