1. Recruit active, enthusiastic members of MASFAA who have extensive experience in financial aid to serve as trainers.
2. Plan and administer a training workshop for approximately 15 trainers.
3. Provide NASFAA Core materials and the previous year’s MASFAA Just the FACTS! Power Point slides to each trainer. These materials will be used to create customized and up-to-date presentations in a modular format.
4. Plan the training series to occur over a 5-week time span in the fall. For 2008-09, the workshops will occur only in the central part of the state at one site; last year, the workshops occurred in one site location (eastern part of the state); in prior years the workshops occurred simultaneously in the western and eastern parts of the state (two sites). In subsequent years, the committee may opt to administer two sites on a bi-annual basis. Sites must be easily accessible with preferred access to public transportation.
5. Announce the workshop series to the MASFAA membership; anticipated participation not to exceed 30 trainees at each site.
6. Produce and distribute binders of the modules to the trainees.
7. Conduct a debriefing and evaluation of the workshop series.
