1. Make the GPCC a vital part of the professional life of members that serve graduate and professional students.
• To that end, we will work to update our portion of the MASFAA website to become a valuable resource and reference tool for graduate and professional aid officers throughout the region.
• Members of the committee will continue to write articles concerning graduate issues for the MASFAA newsletter.
• A member will be sponsored by the committee to attend the EASFAA conference or graduate aid symposium depending on the plans of the EASFAA Graduate Concerns Committee. This member would otherwise not have had the funding to attend this conference.
2. Ensure that the GPCC’s mission is known, understood, and implemented.
• Our mission and goals are clearly stated on our website, newsletter, MASFAA’s annual conference, our annual symposium, and other appropriate venues.
3. Provide professional development and training opportunities that meet the needs of our graduate and professional aid officers.
• Develop and maintain a one-day information session/symposium related to graduate and professional concerns.
• Organize and present at least three (3) sessions related to graduate and professional concerns at the annual conference.
• Cultivate a partnership with EASFAA’s Graduate Concerns Committee and explore the potential of inviting EASFAA members in other New England states to our symposium – depending on availability of space and other concerns (i.e. cost for non-MASFAA members).
• Utilize resources on a regional level that would be a benefit to MASFAA and the GPCC, such as, EASFAA’s graduate listserv.
4. Work with other MASFAA committees when appropriate to facilitate the needs of the graduate and professional aid officers.
• Ask for committee members to act as liaisons with other committees to report to the GPCC issues that may be of concern to graduate aid and provide information to other committees regarding graduate aid concerns.
